The focus of our services is on people affected by HIV/AIDS. Since we welcome individuals of all ages with a wide variety of life experiences, our professionals provide a broad spectrum of counseling and support services.

We welcome people of all origins, all genders, any sexual orientation, and all faiths.

We offer counseling in German, English, and French. If needed, language interpreters can be brought in.

Our counseling is anonymous and free of charge.

We support HIV-positive people and their partners, friends, and families with…

  • Questions regarding transmission routes and prevention methods
  • Questions about relationships, sexuality, and the desire to have children in the context of HIV/AIDS
  • Questions about managing a chronic illness (e.g., dealing with coming out, anxiety, depression, and isolation)
  • Experiences of discrimination
  • Social law matters (e.g., citizen's benefit [Bürgergeld/ALG II], basic income support, health insurance, pensions, rehabilitation, and disability certificates)
  • Applying for social benefits and dealing with government authorities
  • Asylum and immigration law matters
  • Applying for financial assistance from foundations

For example, we connect HIV-positive people with…

  • Local HIV specialists in the region
  • Other (specialist) doctors and clinics
  • Outpatient and inpatient care facilities and hospices
  • Psychotherapists
  • Other specialized counseling services (e.g., debt counseling, counseling for immigrants)
  • Our own and other peer-support groups

For intensive care needs that go beyond what our counseling center can offer, we can refer individuals to our aws RheinNeckar program.
