aws RheinNeckar is an integration assistance service "Eingliederungshilfe", or more precisely: a service for social participation. The legal basis is Section 113 Paragraph 2 No. 2 in conjunction with Section 78 Paragraphs 1, 3, and 5 of the German Social Code, Book IX (SGB IX). Anyone who has a substantial disability or is threatened by one (Section 99 SGB IX) that limits their equal participation in society is eligible for benefits. The purpose of integration assistance is to enable benefit recipients to lead an independent life that respects human dignity, and to promote full, effective, and equal participation in society. The service is intended to enable them to plan and manage their lives as self-determinedly and responsibly as possible (Section 90 Paragraph 1 SGB IX).

Assistance services are designed to empower benefit recipients to manage their daily lives self-determinedly and independently. They specifically include services for general day-to-day tasks such as running a household, shaping social relationships, personal life planning, participating in community and cultural life, leisure activities including sports, and ensuring the effectiveness of medical and medically prescribed services (Section 78 Paragraph 1 SGB IX).

The specific need for assistance and the resources of the benefit recipient are assessed individually. Their abilities, limitations, and the exact need for support services are determined by the responsible funding body using the Baden-Württemberg Assessment Tool (BEI_BW) (Section 118 SGB IX) and are documented in the comprehensive overall plan (Section 121 SGB IX).
