Who We Are

Currently, the board consists of the following members:

• Wolfgang Erichson: Chair and Treasurer
• Johannah Illgner: Spokesperson
• Nicolá Lutzmann: Networking and Fundraising

The board is supported by a volunteer managing director who handles many of the administrative tasks, as well as volunteer auditors. The position of volunteer managing director is currently held by Peter Abelmann (Chairman of the Board of Aidshilfe Heidelberg e.V.).

What We Do

The purpose of the Friends of Aidshilfe is to provide Aidshilfe Heidelberg with funds for its valuable work through donations, membership dues, and events, thereby ensuring its long-term existence.

Our main task is fundraising. To achieve this, we organize charity events such as the AIDS Gala and "Pink Monday" at the Heidelberg Christmas Market. All proceeds go exclusively to benefit Aidshilfe. For this reason, we all work on a voluntary basis and do not maintain our own office spaces.

What We Support

Aidshilfe Heidelberg submits project applications to us, which are decided upon during board meetings. This makes it possible to pre-finance projects that are not fully covered, or not yet covered, by public funds.

Examples of projects funded currently and in recent years:

• School / Youth Prevention: Subsidy for an additional specialist position
• Migration & Sexual Health Programs: Minijob position
• Checkpoints: Subsidy for personnel and laboratory costs to keep testing services free of charge for users
• Peer support: Excursions, Rainbow Café (Regenbogencafé), group dinners
• Christmas Vouchers: For people living with HIV on low incomes
• Subsidies for Equipment: Such as a new copy machine and other devices

How You Can Support Us

• Support with a one-time donation? We welcome donations via PayPal or bank transfer (> click here for all information). For donations of 100 EUR or more, we automatically issue donation receipts if the address is included in the payment reference.
• Support regularly? We are especially happy to welcome new members who support our work regularly and reliably, thereby contributing to the long-term existence of the association. Membership fees can be chosen freely based on financial means. A receipt for the contributions is issued automatically. > Click here for all information and the membership form.
