Peer Support
Aidshilfe Heidelberg was founded in 1986 by those affected, for those affected. Even today, peer support remains a vital pillar of our work. For many HIV-positive individuals, it is incredibly helpful to connect with others, to speak openly about life and the challenges surrounding HIV and AIDS, and to know they are not alone with their experiences, worries, fears, and questions.
Once a week, we host the "Regenbogencafé" (Rainbow Café) on our premises, where all HIV-positive individuals, as well as their partners, friends, and families, are warmly welcome.
We currently offer the following peer support groups:
- Breakfast meetup for HIV-positive women
- Discussion group for HIV-positive women
- Group for HIV-positive men and women
- Discussion circle for HIV-positive individuals, facilitated by a social worker
AIDS-Hilfe also cooperates with numerous other self-help organizations, enabling those affected to participate in nationwide peer support programs, recreational trips, and other networking events.
Providing a safe and secure environment for our peer support services is highly important to us. Therefore, we kindly ask anyone interested to contact our social workers first.
Are you interested in our peer support offers? Please feel free to call us to arrange an appointment for a personal consultation.
