Since 2004, the "Heidelberg Alliance against Poverty and Exclusion" (Heidelberger Bündnis gegen Armut und Ausgrenzung) has been an open coalition of organizations in Heidelberg and the surrounding area dedicated to combating poverty and social exclusion. Since October 1, 2014, the Heidelberg Alliance has also been a member of the Baden-Württemberg State Poverty Conference (Landesarmutskonferenz Baden-Württemberg).

Our shared mission is to actively contribute to establishing nearly equal opportunities and living conditions for all citizens and to serve as a voice for the poor. Our goal is to fight poverty, exclusion, and their structural causes primarily by raising awareness and engaging the public on the issue. This includes professional circles, political actors, multipliers, and the general population alike, with a special focus on the local and regional context.
